    So what you are essentially trying to do is create a large social networking system that is fee based? I don’t think it would be profitable given that:

    1.) People network the most with people they already know and trust first

    2.) This infrastructure already exists for free, in the shape of social networking communities online, directories, listings, publications, etc.

    Anything fee-based is a good idea and basically if you get your pricing right you are home free.

    It already exists. It’s called the Chamber of Commerce. You pay to be a member, you meet business contacts.
